The family is in my thoughts and prayers. Loyd was truly one of the finest men I've ever known. I know he is enjoying Heaven.

We are so thankful that we were able to meet Loyd in 2012. To know Loyd was to love and admire him. He was a true child of God. How blessed he was to have such a close-knit, Christian family who loves him so. Loyd walks in the light of God. Thanks be to God.

Dear Suzanne, Gayla and Beverly

I always appreciated and enjoyed being around your father so much. I learned more about him when I was older and “the crew” would meet almost every day at the Ranch House for lunch. I can remember so many bible discussions that we would have. I know that many at the lunch table didn’t always input much during those discussions but we enjoyed them. Loyd was set in his ways but he was a kind man and would listen. That is a rare quality. He was also even tempered, except when he replanted the front yard. You were told in no uncertain term to “stay off” until it filled in. I can remember several years ago I admitted to Loyd that when we were teenagers, Gayla, Mark and I would get into the bowl of fermented fruit that he had on the kitchen counter and have a few samples. He just smiled and shook his head a little and said, “that’s why I kept having to add fruit”. I think he always knew. I recall when I was in college and started smoking a pipe, he and I would talk about pipes and tobacco blends for hours. Those are cherished memories.

May God bless all of you and ease your hearts because you know Loyd is with him now.

Again, God Bless you all,
Shawn S.

So sorry for your loss. Your father was a friend during our High School Days and during our days after graduation. He was a wonderful person and we did not stay in contact as we should but lives move forward but never forgot his friendship and knowing your Mother Pearl. My prayers are with you all. . My thoughts of your father will always be with me.
