Funeral Services for Charles Thomas Goheen, 92, a long time Hereford resident, will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2017 at Parkside Chapel Funeral Home with Jeremy Goheen, a grandson, officiating. Cremation will follow, under the direction of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mr. Goheen passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 in Amarillo.

Mr. Goheen will be available for viewing Monday, June 12, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Parkside Chapel Funeral Home.

Charles Thomas Goheen was born May 23, 1925 in Cone, Texas to Ernest and Maggie Goodin Goheen. He attended Anton Schools. He met and fell in love with Marie Robertson. They married June 13, 1948 in Lubbock. Mr. Goheen was a member of the VFW, and American Legion. He proudly served in the Navy Sea Bee’s during World War II. He served as Post Commander of the VFW in Hereford for two years. He also served as the VFW District 13 Commander for one year. He was a member of Church of Christ.

Those left to mourn his passing, are his wife of 68 years, Marie Goheen of Hereford, four sons, Gary Goheen and wife Brenda of Hereford, Dennis Goheen and wife Connie of Littlefield, Jim Goheen and wife Bonnie of Groom, and Keith Goheen of San Antonio, one brother Weslie Goheen and wife Louelle of Lewisville, one sister Janell Hollars of Amarillo. Six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Rodney Goheen in 1978 and a grandson Brent in 1977, five brothers and three sisters.

The family suggests that donations in Mr. Goheen’s name be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 62 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis Tennessee 38105, or a charity of Choice.
