Funeral Services for Mary S. Padilla, 73, a long-time Hereford resident are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Barn Church with Pastor Guy Walker, pastor officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. There will be a Vigil at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mrs. Padilla stepped into Heaven and into the arms of her loving Lord on Saturday, February 17, 2018 in Amarillo.

Mary S. Padilla was born August 8, 1944 in Garita, New Mexico to Manuel and Frances Estrada Gonzales. She was a Cheerleader while attending Robertson High School in Las Vegas, New Mexico. She married Pete Padilla on June 5, 1961 in Las Vegas. They moved to Hereford in 1964 from Las Vegas. Mary was an excellent wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an awesome cook. Her Cherry Pies, Green Chili, Beans and Tortillas were the “best ever”. She was a Christian and a member of Barn Church. She loved and adored her family. She was loved by all who knew her.

Left to mourn her passing are her husband of fifty-six years, Pete Padilla of Hereford, 6 daughters Germaine Padilla, Peggy Padilla and husband Gilberto, and Darlene Galvan and husband Martin all of Amarillo, Melissa Padilla, Aretha Padilla and Amanda Barrera and husband Chris of Hereford, one son Pat Padilla and wife Carol of Hereford. There are nineteen grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren also surviving, and a host of friends and relatives.

The family suggests memorials in Mrs. Padilla’s name be made to Fresenius Dialysis Center, 5920 West Amarillo Blvd, Amarillo, Texas, 79106
